The SAMLESBURY
DECORATIVE & FINE ARTS SOCIETY (a
member society of NADFAS)Started in 1973, Young Arts provides exciting opportunities for children
and young people to expand their horizons through their involvement in
creative arts activities.
We aim to inspire young people with a
lasting enthusiasm for the arts and an awareness of our arts heritage and
its conservation. Our vision is equality of opportunity for all to learn
through participation in the arts.
Young
Arts Projects are arts related activities for young people funded wholly or
partly by a NADFAS society.
Samlesbury DFAS organises Church Trails for primary school children. So far we have completed projects at St.James, Brindle (2010) and St.Michael-on-Wyre (2011). A third trail for St.Helen's, Churchtown is under preparation.
A wonderful day, on 31st March 2011, was sponsored for primary school children from Westmorland School, Chorley, with behavioural, social and emotional difficulties and associated learning needs. The day was featured in the Chorley Guardian, and the Head, Sue Asher, was delighted. You can see the results of their efforts below.
